CDC & Christmas time in Sydney 2014

Queue fanfare and roll of the drums – we were submitted for CDC approval on the 18th before the Christmas shut down on the 19th!

It’s been a long haul as it was a year on Monday 15th that we signed up for our Tender with Wisdom but we’ve finally made it to CDC.

Getting the Water Board approval has cost us both time and money as we needed updated engineering plans for the accredited water board co-ordinator but we’ve done it. CDC approval is supposed to take up to 10 working days so hopefully by the time Wisdom Head Office re-opens after the Christmas break we will have our approval through.

So now we can kick back and relax and enjoy Christmas and not think about our build for a couple of weeks.

I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who is following my blog and to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2015!

Especially for Aylin in Germany with the help of the Google translator ‘Frohe Weihnachten und Gluckliches Neues Jahr’

And to Johanne in Brazil ‘Feliz Natal’.

To those of you not in Sydney but especially for all of you back in the UK I thought I’d share some photos of Sydney at Christmas time. We went down to the City on Sunday the 14th to do some Christmas shopping and to enjoy the Christmas decorations. I hope you enjoy my snaps 🙂 Just click on any of them to enter a slideshow.

Having lived here as a child in the 60's I fell in love with Australia and always hoped to one day be able to visit again. So when the opportunity came to move here with my husband's job we decided nothing ventured nothing gained and decided to go for it even though it was hard to leave our family and friends behind in the UK. So now we're here lock, stock and barrel, children and pets too and embarking on building a new home.

  1. A joyous Christmas and a very happy new year for you too lunar 🙂
We visited my sister in melbourne 2 years ago and went for a stroll in Botanical Garden. Someone layed crayons on the edge of the foothbath for christmas greeting. It was a long list with a lot of foreign languages. This was such a nice Idea. I hope, I’m able to write my greeting again next year.

    • Thank you Aylin! What a lovely idea for the Xmas greetings in the Botanical Gardens. My son spent some time writing Christmas Greetings in different languages using Google translate on all our present tags then he discovered we had received a Xmas card with them all on 🙂
