After what seems like forever we have finally signed our building contract with Wisdom today. Perseverance with the plans and tender has finally paid off and we went down to Narellan to their Head Office to sign and pay our deposit.

115 pages of the Building Contract

14 pages of our Tender (version 7)

18 pages of plans (version 4)

And a lot of dollars later we are on to the next stage – the colour appointments 🙂 .

Since it has taken so long to get to this stage and due to the amount of customer commitments my husband has Wisdom have kindly condensed our appointments into one very full week.

This should be the exciting part – hopefully. So in preparation we came back via the new Wisdom show homes in Gregory Hills and Timpelle Kitchens to look at styles and colours. Then as if that was not enough I managed to convince him to pop into Di Lorenzo to try door samples against the tiles. I may have just managed to walk past the porcelain tiles once or twice too….

My timing was off as if we had left a bit later we could have gone straight to the Outback steakhouse to celebrate. Or if we stick to beans on toast we could get the porcelain tiles!

Sadly no photos to liven this update up as I managed to drop my camera and break it 😦 .

Having lived here as a child in the 60's I fell in love with Australia and always hoped to one day be able to visit again. So when the opportunity came to move here with my husband's job we decided nothing ventured nothing gained and decided to go for it even though it was hard to leave our family and friends behind in the UK. So now we're here lock, stock and barrel, children and pets too and embarking on building a new home.

  1. Congrats! on the signing of the contract 🙂
Big step $, as somebody recommend you in the forum, take some snacks to the appointment, and if possible don’t make plans after that, you finish really tired. But It is a lot of fun 🙂

    • Thank you Raquel!
I do recall someone saying how hectic it was. We shall pack a sandwich and if time is on our side we shall pop in to Narellan for a strong coffee between appointments!

  2. Good news on the contract. Not so good on the camera. Better sort something out in time for your appointments. Camera is crucial for remembering what you picked!
