Cracking pace at Gardener’s Ridge

Easter is here and so is the sunshine so we popped up to Gardener’s Ridge to see how it is progressing and pretty good is the answer.

Stage 2 and 3 started at the end of March and they are not hanging about. We visited last week and they had cleared the trees, started demolishing the old property and had started on the road for Sarabah Street. This week there is not much remaining of the property and they have started on the road for Willandra Crescent plus widened Bruce Place.

So without further to do here is the evidence.

We are on the left, starting towards the RHS of the garage then down past the bamboo to just past the first of the two large gums.

We had our revised tender back at the end of the week but there were some errors so back to the estimators it goes. Mind you I am not surprised there were errors as the list of variations was pretty big, like Topsy it grew and grew. It would help if I stopped having flashes of inspiration and adding more variations. Hopefully they will correct it quickly ( I can dream, they are inundated at the moment) so we can accept it and move on to the next stage.

Having lived here as a child in the 60's I fell in love with Australia and always hoped to one day be able to visit again. So when the opportunity came to move here with my husband's job we decided nothing ventured nothing gained and decided to go for it even though it was hard to leave our family and friends behind in the UK. So now we're here lock, stock and barrel, children and pets too and embarking on building a new home.

    following your journey now!

    • Thanks Raquel,
I have been enjoying following your building blog too, especially as you are further along in the process than us. It is interesting to see what other people do and pick up some useful tips in the process.
All the best for your build,
