Well I’m not totally sure which came first in the end the house or the land but I’ll start with the land.

We are currently renting in Beaumont Hills where there is lots of building going on around us. We wanted our own property and decided to build in order to get what we would like. The hunt for land took us to the North Kellyville precinct a big growth centre close by. I’m still not quite sure how we stumbled upon Gardener’s Ridge just very glad we did.

Gardener’s Ridge is described as ‘a neighbourhood of larger lots – high on the hill’ and the area just had a lovely feel to it – it just felt right. The first stage was sold out so we registered for stage 2 and 3 and struck lucky. We were incredibly lucky and got the lot that was top of our list – #311  which is 19m by 32m giving us 608m2.

We spent a lot of time visiting lots of show homes but luckily the huge Kellyville Display village is on our doorstep. We liked homes from Rawson, Clarendon, Huxley and Wisdom but eventually chose the Wisdom Majestic 40. It took a while as I fell in love with the en-suite and kitchen in the Ambassador, then the Majestic 35, then the 40.  Andrew the sales consultant was brilliant through all of this. He was very patient as we (hmm that should read ‘I’) chopped and changed then looked at single stories before eventually settling on the Majestic 40 which was the one he suggested to us right back at the very beginning…..

Having lived here as a child in the 60's I fell in love with Australia and always hoped to one day be able to visit again. So when the opportunity came to move here with my husband's job we decided nothing ventured nothing gained and decided to go for it even though it was hard to leave our family and friends behind in the UK. So now we're here lock, stock and barrel, children and pets too and embarking on building a new home.
